Experience the rugged side of New Zealand’s South Island, as we explore every valley & peak between Christchurch and Queenstown in our campervan convoy.
Along the way you’ll learn everything there is to know about travel photography from our professional guide, Kyle Pasalskyj (read more about him here). From amateurs to professionals and everything in between, one-on-one and group sessions will have you fine tuning your shutter skills and walking away with incredible photos and a better understanding of photography.
As we shoot and learn, our team of professional chefs are working away in the background preparing every meal and making sure you have something delicious to fill you up after a long day of exploring.
This isn’t your ordinary trip. There’s no hotels, no turndown service, and at times we’ll be completely off the grid. Let’s get uncomfortable and push ourselves to make something incredible.
Our journey begins in Christchurch, where a shuttle will take you from the airport straight to our partnering hotel around the corner. From then it’s a night of drinks, banter and getting to know the people you’ll be spending the next nine days with.
The following morning we begin the adventure of a lifetime.
The first leg of our journey takes us from Christchurch to Lake Tekapo. This drive is the perfect introduction to New Zealand, with scenery ranging from vast plains to snow capped mountains, majestic blue lakes to dense pine forests. It has everything. Lake Tekapo also happens to be smack bang in the middle of a Dark Sky Reserve, too - so bring a jacket, we’re staying out late.
With so much on offer in Queenstown, the next few days are a bit of a “choose your own adventure”. A road trip to Glenorchy to see where the mountains meet the lake, luging down the side of Ben Lomond with panoramic views of the city, or even catching a plane to the incredible Milford Sound.
Our must-do though (and included in the price of the trip) - a visit to Fergburger.
A short drive north, and for those that are game and able; an experience of a lifetime. Today we climb to the top of Roy’s Peak - a 16km leg destroyer that will reward you the whole way along. Get ready for some of the best views not only in New Zealand, but in the world.
For those not feeling a strenuous workout, the much more approachable Rob Roy Glacier walk is just around the corner and offers just as incredible views.
Regardless of which trek you chose the day before, today is for resting some very sore legs.
Explore Wanaka, enjoy a coffee by the lake, or for those still up for a bit of adventure - a few hours north is the beautiful Blue Pools walk; a relatively easy hike through thick forest offering close up views of crystal clear blue waters.
The crowning jewel of our trip, and a place so meaningful to us that Kyle even got it tattooed onto his arm; Mount Cook. Hiking up the Hooker Valley, listening to glaciers shift, and depending on the weather - setting up our shanty town in the snow, this place will change your life.
Our final destination. Surrounded by snow covered mountains, we’ll be the only people for miles and completely off the grid for our final couple of nights. Hiking through the valley, taking to the skies with our drones - it’s a time for us to show off what we’ve learnt and wrap up our trip somewhere beautiful.
The final drive back to Christchurch. This is where we say our goodbyes to each other and our vans. From here it’s up to you, head into Christchurch and experience everything the city has to offer, extend your trip to other parts of New Zealand or finish things up and fly home.
We’ve taken care of just about everything you could want, so all you need to worry about when you explore with us is getting yourself to and from Christchurch, and then any goodies/experiences you may want to purchase along the way. That’s it.
